Coronavirus scan on visitors in Chirang

Precautionary measures were adopted in the meeting held on preparedness against of Covid-19 pandemic

The Chirang district administration has ordered the health and family welfare department in the district to keep a strict vigil on visitors from other states and foreign countries as well as people returning home from other states, to prevent spread of coronavirus.

All tourists, including foreigners, who have been staying at various hotels, tourist lodges, guesthouses and missionary schools in the district will have to undergo proper tests.

These precautionary measures were adopted in the meeting held on preparedness against of Covid-19 pandemic on Monday under the chairmanship of Karmadev Brahma, additional deputy commissioner and chief executive officer, District Disaster Management Authority, at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office, Chirang.

He said about all-out efforts made by them in tackling coronavirus by screening 800 people till now, arranging more than 50 beds at quarantined centres at Kajalgaon JSB Civil Hospital, forming of a rapid action team and three mobile units for coronavirus tests at Basugaon, Dangtal and Bijni railway stations.
