Volunteers sought for Covid-19 care

The Kamrup (metro) district administration has appealed to medical professionals, specially the doctors working in different private hospitals and nursing homes here, to register their names to provide treatment in Covid care centres (CCC) and dedicated coronavirus health centres (DCHC) in the city.

This step by the district administration came after the ministry of health and family welfare issued guidelines to set up a three-tier hospital infrastructure for the treatment of Covid-19 suspected cases earlier.

The Kamrup (metro) deputy commissioner, Biswajit Pegu, said to isolate all suspected and confirmed cases of Covid-19 and to ensure optimal utilisation of available resources according to the guidelines issued by the state health and family welfare department, the district administration has decided to open the care centres.

The order also stated that remuneration would be provided to doctors, nurses and other staff according to the norms of the National Health Mission (NHM).
