A video of a dazzling array of vibrant flowers with drizzling rain and soothing music shared by the deputy chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Chowna Mein, emanated great joy and positivity, put a smile on many, many faces and carried a message to all to stay healthy and safe during the coronavirus pandemic.

Mein uploaded a three-minute video clip showing a wonderful collection of flowers — from enchanting fuchsia in myriad hues of purple, pink, yellow, red, white, maroon and other varieties at his residence in Namsai district of eastern Arunachal Pradesh. The radiant orchids inspired confidence and emanated joy and health for thousands to stay healthy, focused and safe during the coronavirus pandemic.

Mein wrote, “A walk through my garden. May the start of your day be colourful like the flowers, full of life and hope. The harsh season will go away and these difficulties shall pass, too. Good days are on the horizon as the start of spring marks a new beginning. This is a time when we have to exercise extreme caution and alertness. It is time to respond with courage, self control and unity. Let’s endure together to overcome the Covid-19 crisis.”

The video invited a flood of likes, comments and shares.

He wrote in a previous Facebook post, “The health and safety of our people are our primary concern. There are a number of measures the state government has initiated to ensure we manage to safely get through the fluid situation. These are challenging and uncertain times but I feel confident we can get through this together. Here is what I spoke during a visit to Parshuram Kund in Lohit district. Maintain social distancing, wear masks, sanitise hands properly, wash hands regularly and don’t spit here and there.”

One Suraj Tayan wrote, “Your inspiring thoughts always motivate us. We may not be together but your positive vibes made us stronger every day. Wonderful collection of flowers.”

Another Facebook user, Denhang Bosai, wrote, “Flowers tell us a beautiful story of love, hope, struggles, beauty and fragrance without uttering a single word. They appeal to our heart, mind and senses and connect to our souls. They teach us the better lessons. Beautiful video clip.”
