Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma on Monday urged Union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar to “relocate” students from his state studying in Imphal’s Central Agricultural University to the CAU in Kyrdemkulai (Meghalaya) until “normalcy returns” to strife-torn Manipur to enable them to continue their education “without any interruption”.

Sangma, who met and submitted a letter to Tomar on Monday in New Delhi, tweeted: “Impressed upon Hon’ble Union Agriculture Minister, Sh. @nstomar ji our concern for the future of students from Meghalaya studying in the Central Agriculture University, Imphal with the situation in the state of Manipur.”
