Two years after the BJP formed the government in Tripura, chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday claimed that the people of the state have taken a correct decision to rescue the state from the misrule of CPM and his government was working to develop the state.
Before coming to power, the BJP had promised to provide employment for all, that it would fill up 50,000 posts.
The BJP had also promised that it would increase the wages of the MGNREGA.
The state government has already filled up over 2,000 posts in teaching and other posts, while the Opposition Congress and CPM have criticized the government saying not enough jobs were issued. Deb on Tuesday visited Tripura-sundari temple at Gomati district. Speaking to reporters after the visit, Deb said, “Our government is working to take Tripura to newer heights. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also working in this same direction. Soon, each and every household across the state will have employment.”
BJP spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharya said BJP is celebrating “Mukti Divas” across the state.
Later on Tuesday afternoon, addressing a news conference, CPIM state secretary Goutam Das termed this day a “black day” and claimed that the BJP-led government in Tripura has failed to fulfil its duty since it came into power with false promises two years back.
