The licence of a bar at ABC here was cancelled on Friday after two vehicles, one belonging to its owner, allegedly tried to disrupt the chief minister’s convoy on Thursday evening.

A source said one car came out from the bar parking and was heading in the wrong direction when chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s convoy was going to Brahmaputra Guest House, while another car allegedly tried to enter the convoy though traffic police tried to stop it. Both the vehicles were intercepted and six persons detained. On Friday, a case was registered at Bhangagarh police station against Debasarsh Goswami and Gitartha Das.

Das, identified as the bar owner, and four others, in an allegedly inebriated condition, were coming out when the convoy was passing by. Das claimed he came to check on ongoing renovations. Goswami was also coming from the wrong direction and allegedly tried to break into the convoy. He was arrested on Friday.

Guwahati police commissioner M.P. Gupta said they are investigating the case.
