“Disinfectant means spraying of chemical which will kill all kind of living bacteria and virus not 100 per cent but 99.99 per cent. We are just using a hypochlorite solution here and we have deployed seven vehicles across the city. From Monday 10pm we have started spraying it and we will go to spray about 30,000 litres of disinfectants everyday day night. We will continue it till April 6,” Yadav said.

“We know that this is not a 100 per cent solution but still it will go a long way to prevent in our state. Till now no cases and deaths but there are possibilities some people are moving around us whom we have not detected. So, we are dealing with these possibilities. To seek the cooperation of the public we have also announced that we will do it every night from 10pm to 5am every day. Yesterday, we found many shops were open and requested them to close. We hope people will cooperate with us,” he said.

Yadav has cleared that the hypochlorite solution is not poison but yes if a human being comes in contact lacerationsor nose and throat irritation might occur.

“We have trained our people and directed them not to spray if they found any human being and they will just leave that place. We are appealing to the people not to come out from their home unless necessary,” Yadav said.

Chief secretary of Tripura Manoj Kumar has ordered to non-essential offices which can be closed during the lockdown.

“There is a need for regulating attendance in the office. At the same time, the functional requirements of the offices need to be considered, particularly in view of the closure of financial year. Each department will immediately identify non-essential offices which can be closed during lockdown except the group A officers and their skeleton staff and order their closure.”
