Mechuka will host the seventh edition of its annual adventure festival from November 23 to 25.
The festival, with its permanent ground sanctioned by Arunachal Pradesh deputy chief minister Chowna Mein in 2016, now has a VIP and public gallery, parking area and modern facilities.
The three-day adventure festival features various activities like propelled-glider and micro-light glider rides, aero-modelling, trap shooting, paragliding, mountain biking, rappelling, river crossing, rafting and trekking, rock climbing and zorbing.
This year, for the first time, the festival will also have angling competition (trout fish as target).
An array of local food, cultural and musical evenings and fashion shows are added attractions. On the inaugural day, the cultural programmes of various tribes of Arunachal Pradesh will be showcased. The five communities of Mechuka sub-division — Memba, Adi Bokar, Adi Ramo, Adi Pai Libo and Tagin — will entertain visitors with their traditional dances.
Festival chairman and Mechuka MLA Pasang Dorjee Sona said the event will be bigger and better than the previous editions. He appealed to the people to make the adventure festival, the best in the state.
