4 arrested in Ichamati incident

Meghalaya police have arrested four more people in connection with the incident at Ichamati in East Khasi Hills where a Khasi Students’ Union activist succumbed to his injuries following an anti-Citizenship Amendment Act meeting. The total number of arrested people in the case so far is 12, incluing these four.

Relinquished

IPS officer Piyush Mordia relinquished the charge of inspector-general of Border Security Force, Guwahati Frontier, on Wednesday. Mordia handed over charge to DIG (PSO) Kuldeep Kumar Gulia of the same frontier who will perform duty of IG till the arrival of new incumbent.

AAI funds

14 detained

Dhubri police detained 14 people for violating the lockdown, a senior official said on Wednesday.
