Police have recovered 35 LPG cylinders and arrested one smuggler, identified as Mojamil Haque, from Jambari village at Chaygaon in Kamrup district on Wednesday morning.

Assistant superintendent of police Kamrup police Sanjeev Saikia said here on Thursday, the police got an input about illegal hoarding of LPG cylinders at Makibur Rahman’s house at Jambari.

Boko police station officer-in charge Jogendra Barman and Jambari police outpost in-charge Munna Pachani with a Boko police team launched an operation.

When the police reached Makibur’s house, he had already escaped but the police arrested his elder brother, Mojami,l and recovered 35 cylinders.

Saikia said they will apprehend Makibur soon.
