Penguin India made the hearts of bookworms around the country glow with a recent tweet. The publishing house shared a brand new word — Literatiopia, pronounced lih.tuh.rah.tee.oh.pee.uh. This brilliant little assembly of letters describes a realm teeming with brainiacs, scholars, and bookworms.
Imagine a place where the air smells of freshly printed pages, and where conversations revolve around Hemingway’s beard, Austen’s wit, and Shakespeare’s insults. Locals are known to engage in wordplay duels, libraries never sleep and the joy of reading is celebrated like a festival. A utopia for book lovers, indeed! So, when are you escaping to this world of “intellectuals, scholars and avid readers”? We’re making our cuppa and picking a book to take along right now.
