Surbhi Pansari unveils her captivating Autumn/Winter 2023 collection, drawing inspiration from the ancient game of chess, Chaturanga, which traces its origins back to the 7th century. What truly captivated the designer, however, was not merely the game itself, but the fascinating evolution of its rules and the evolution of its iconic pieces. This narrative comes to life in her exquisite line of Jodhpuri Coats, Blazers, Bandhgala, Jackets, and Kurtas. The collection showcases meticulous surface ornamentation with fine threadwork, intricately portraying the essence of chess pieces, further enriched with bugle beads, crystals, and checks. Midnight Blue, an emblematic hue of the brand, intertwines seamlessly with black, forming the cornerstone of this captivating colour palette. The pieces exude an air of refinement through their antique gold embroidery, featuring motifs of the King, Queen, Knight, Rook, Bishop, and Pawn.
A standout favourite is undoubtedly the black jacket, playfully adorned with the regal visages of the King and Queen, adding a whimsical touch to this elegant ensemble.
