In 2010, Dibakar Banerjee’s anthology, Love Sex Aur Dhokha, became a sleeper hit, capturing Indian cinema’s progression to a bolder style of storytelling. Its sequel, which premiered earlier this year in theatres, is finally available to stream on Netflix.
Produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures, with an ensemble cast comprising names like Swastika Mukherjee, Mouni Roy and Urfi Javed, the film delves into themes like gender identity, stardom, reality TV, abuse and of course, pleasure, with an uninhibited style. It also holds a mirror to modern society, reflecting on the impact of rampant social media virality, online chat rooms and accessible fame on a generation that is helpless to its addiction.
So, if you’re looking for an engaging watch this week, LSD 2 should be on your list!
