This Father’s Day, spend some quality time bonding with your dad by doing a movie marathon that celebrates unique paternal relationships. Our recommendations are the evergreen 2016 Bollywood hit, Dangal, and the 1991 American comedy, Father of the Bride, which you will easily find on OTT platforms.
The first film is a modern-day classic, bagging a National Award for its take on Mahavir Singh Phogat’s (Aamir Khan) tough-love style coaching to his daughters, Indian wrestlers Geeta (Fatima Sana Shaikh) and Babita (Sanya Malhotra). The second one is about a father’s protectiveness towards his daughter, when she decides to get married to a seemingly nice guy, whom she has only met a few months ago. Both films explore intricate nuances of fatherhood with some being warm, some quirky, and some extremely lovable. In the end, they reiterate how awesome dads are!
