The tennis legend stars in a new promotional for the live-action ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’

What’s common between Aang and Serena Williams? Both of them can tap into the Avatar State and do exceptional things. The tennis star recently featured in a promotional video for Netflix’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, and showed us why she is the boss. The clip shows Serena nonchalantly walking onto a tennis court, ready to serve. Just as she leaps, her face lights up with the familiar glow of the Avatar, and she sets the tennis ball aflame. The clip cleverly hints at all four forms of bending: fire, earth, water and air, which the Avatar is supposed to master in order to protect the universe. With the show set to premiere on Netflix on February 22, we can’t wait to dive into the rich world after years of waiting.
