Families can be complex. Coming to Netflix soon, His Three Daughters explores this concept with a great deal of nuance. The movie, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2023, is set to release in select theatres and on the streaming platform. Netflix recently released the film’s trailer, which shows three estranged sisters coming together to care for their ailing father. Directed by Azazel Jacobs, the three central characters are essayed by Carrie Coon, Natasha Lyonne and Elizabeth Olsen. The trailer beautifully hints at the differences between siblings, whose common past struggles against their conflicting present, making it heartbreakingly difficult to bridge their distance. Each of them seem to have a complicated relationship not only with themselves but with their parent as well. After a limited theatrical run in theatres on September 6, the film will arrive on Netflix on September 20. Prepare for some intense feels while you watch this family drama.
