The trailer of Disney+ Hotstar’s new web series, The Trial: Pyaar Kaanoon Dhokha, shows Kajol in a surprisingly new avatar. The actress essays the role of a lawyer, Noyonika, who takes charge of her life and family after her husband (played by our very own Jisshu) is sent to jail, and proved to have been unfaithful to her. The clip is full of punches, as Noyonika re-enters the murky world of law, works her way up, and is charged with defending her estranged husband, the most complex case of her life. An adaptation of the US series, The Good Wife, The Trial will begin streaming on July 14.
