Over the past decade, the Man of Steel has endured several not-so-pleasant portrayals. From removing a mustache through CGI to inserting a deceiving end-credits scene, Superman hasn’t been done justice to by DC. All that is expected to change, as James Gunn finally dropped the trailer for the much-awaited, Superman, which is set to reboot the series and become the first film in the new DC Universe.
Starring David Corenswet as Clark Kent, a key observation in the trailer is the emphasis given to his love story with Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane, who has unfortunately been used as an afterthought in many of the previous films. Nicholas Hoult also seems to pack in the unnerving menace of Lex Luthor, and the two are expected to go toe-to-toe in a clash of epic proportions. The trailer also introduces us to Superman’s super dog, Krypto, who Gunn confessed was inspired by his own dog Ozu.
Premiering on July 11, 2025, this take on the iconic character promises to restore him to the symbol of hope that he is known for.
