Potterheads get your wands out because it’s time to go Expecto Patronum in anticipation of HBO's original Harry Potter series, which is set to go in for production in 2025, as confirmed by producers, Mark Mylod and Francesca Gardiner. Production is set to get underway at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, Hertfordshire — the original location where the films were shot.
While the dates haven’t been revealed yet, production is scheduled to start in summer 2025 with the showrunners saying that they will be going more in depth with each book, something the films couldn't do.
While the trio of Harry, Ron and Hermoine haven’t been cast yet, it has been revealed that over 30,000 took part in the open casting for the lead roles. The rumor mill has it that Cillian Murphy could be the top pick to portray the antagonist, Lord Voldemort. We can’t wait to see how this series shapes up. Stay tuned for more updates — we know you’re just as excited as we are!
