about two nurses trying to navigate love, life and livelihood in Mumbai has
been making waves globally. After bagging the coveted Grand Prix at the 77
Cannes Film Festival, the film now has two Golden Globe nominations — Director
of a Motion Picture, and Foreign Language Film. But who is Payal Kapadia, the
person behind this masterpiece?
The director recently got candid on Beyond Bollywood, a talk show presented by MUBI on the YouTube channel, Chalchitra Talks.
The director shared how she was inspired heavily by Satyajit Ray’s works like Charulata,
Mahanagar and Pratidwandi, while also confessing that Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives was her guilty pleasure! She also shared
recommendations for books, movies and TV shows, along with giving her
