Regarded as one of the
greatest Christmas films of all time, It’s a Wonderful Life is the story
of a suicidal man, who gets to see the light, when an angel from heaven shows
him how life would have been had he never lived. Based on The Greatest Gift,
written by Philip Van Doren Stern, the film was a box-office failure when it
was released in 1946, but managed to become a cult classic in later years due
to repeated holiday screenings by broadcasters. Its central theme of valuing
what one has, and finding good in oneself makes it the perfect watch for a
Christmas dinner with family.
