The plot of the movie is an interpretation of Charles Dickens’s ‘A Christmas Carol’, set in the 1960s

The 1964 movie, Carol
for another Christmas directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, written by Rod
Serling, is based on Charles Dickens’s novel A Christmas Carol. The film
narrates the story of an industrial tycoon Daniel Grudge (Sterling Hayden), who
couldn’t recover from the loss of his 22-year-old son, Marley (Peter Fonda),
who was killed in World War II on Christmas Eve. The embittered Grudge has only
scorn for any American involvement in international affairs. But then he is
visited by three ghosts — based on the Ghost of Christmas Past, Ghost of
Christmas Present and the Ghost of Christmas Future — who make him understand
the importance of international peace. If you are someone who is interested in
world history, then this movie is a must watch. It will take you on an
emotional rollercoaster ride.
