If you want a thought-provoking film to pep up your Sunday, revisit this Aaron Sorkin classic as it turns 30. Adapted from a play that Sorkin wrote, the thought of this intense courtroom drama exploring the conflict between following orders vis-a-vis one’s conscience came to Sorkin after a phone conversation with his sister. Directed by Rob Reiner and featuring Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson and Demi Moore, the screenplay is based on the court-martial of two US Marines, charged with murder of one of their fellows. The deeply human themes still feel relevant, three decades after its release, making it an ideal rewatch.
