The ICC recently inducted Alastair Cook, Neetu David, and AB
de Villiers into the Hall of Fame, with each inductee receiving heaps of
congratulations on social media. AB de Villiers, who played for Royal
Challengers Bangalore in the IPL for 11 years, received a very special note of
congratulations from Virat Kohli. The duo who spent a lot of time batting
together for RCB built almost a psychic connection and the camaraderie went
beyond the field to the point that they are the bestest of friends.
In his open letter congratulating de Villiers on being
Inducted into the Hall of Fame, Kohli wrote “You are in the Hall of Fame for
the impact you have left on the game and I don’t think there is anything more
special for a cricketer than to have that honour. Congratulations, biscotti.
You are one of the greatest players to ever play the game.”
In the letter, Virat also recalled a few anecdotes from
their time together on the field, specifically moments that made him understand
how special a player AB was. Head over to the ICC website to read the full open
letter. Cricket fans are sure to feel nostalgic as they recall one of the best
batting partnerships the IPL has ever seen.
