Vir Das is known to
consistently push the boundaries of Indian comedy at the global stage. The
comedian unlocked yet another milestone, becoming the first Indian to host the
International Emmy Awards! Vir will take centre stage for the event’s 52nd
edition, at the ceremony to be held on November 25 at New York City. He took to
Instagram to share this achievement with his fans, thanks them for their
support, and adding that he was equal parts honoured and excited.
The Emmy Awards are sure
to be a spectacle this year, and the Television Academy further announced that
the US version of the ceremony, also known as the Emmys, will be hosted by our
favourite father-son duo, Eugene and Dan Levy. Scheduled for September 15, the
76th edition of the ceremony’s US event will definitely pack a lot of laughs,
as the Levys bring their insane chemistry from Schitt’s Creek. Either way, it’s
a great year for television!
