Smriti Mandhana seems to have turned Bengaluru into her home ground. After guiding the RCB Women’s team to the WPL trophy earlier in the year, Smriti returned to the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in red hot form as India took on South Africa in the first of a three match ODI series. Batting first, India Women managed to put up a total of 265 for the Proteas Women to chase with Smriti being the stand-out batter notching up his 6th ODI ton with a score of 117 off 127 balls in a classy innings that saw her bag the Player of the Match award. After the Indian vice-captain’s heroics with the bat, the Indian bowlers blew away the South Africans like a house of cards, dismissing the visiting team for a mere 122 all out in 37.4 overs to win the match by a total of 143 runs.
