Last week, Sourendro-Soumyojit’s World Music Day concert brought the entire city to Netaji Indoor Stadium to witness a remarkable collaboration between some of India’s best musicians. While the onstage collaborations were exemplary, some backstage ones also stood out. One that particularly caught our eye was an impromptu jugalbandi session between three prominent south Indian singers, Shankar Mahadevan, Shweta Mohan and our very own Usha Uthup. Mahadevan shared an Instagram reel, where the trio sang a few lines of Shree Ganeshaya Dheemahi, where Uthup adorably reprimanded him for fumbling! The Dil Chahta Hai singer even referred to her as his inspiration. Is another concert in the works? We certainly hope so.
