The International Space Station (ISS) recently took to their Instagram handle with captures of New Delhi (India), Santiago (Chile), Mexico City (Mexico) and Shanghai (China) at night, where the cities are lit up and glowing. The snapshots are breathtakingly beautiful, needless to say.
ISS captioned the post “City lights from around the world seen from the station reveal an array of grid-like patterns, webs of roadways, and an assortment of colors highlighting differing cultures”. It’s not the first time that the station has shared glimpses from space. Be it the photo of the SpaceX Dragon Endeavour spacecraft, waxing gibbous Moon above Earth’s horizon, the landscape of Las Vegas or a glowing Earth and a starry sky in one frame — the social media handle of the International Space Station is a treasure trove for space aficionados.
