An India Pakistan game at any cricket tournament is always high octane and more often than not it's the blues that come out on top. We have seen the Men’s team get several wins over Pakistan in the last few years and now the Women’s team have taken it up a notch. Pakistan managed only 108 runs before being bowled out with Deepti Sharma putting up a player of the match winning performance of 3/20. Shreyanka Patil, Renuka Singh Thakur and Pooja Vastrakar picked up 2 wickets apiece in a clinical bowling shift before the batters got to work. With a partnership of 85, the Indian openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma set up the chase and left India at a cruising position before the winning runs were scored with nearly 6 overs to spare.
Check out the Indian team’s comprehensive victory on Instagram, and get ready to cheer on the Women in Blue through the Asia Cup as they face UAE and Nepal next before the semi-finals.
