After reaching glory in the sky, the Indian Air Force (IAF) is now ready to extend its might to outer space!
The IAF recently announced that it will be sending two pilots to the International Space Station (ISS) as a part of the Axiom-4 mission. Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla has been chosen as the prime astronaut, having over 2000 hours of flying under his belt. Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair is the backup.
The pilots are expected to commence their training this week. This mission will go a long way in strengthening the relationship between ISRO and NASA.
My Kolkata wishes IAF the best for this mission!
