May 26 will go down in history as KKR Day. In 2012, they beat CSK in Chennai to lift their first IPL title, and yesterday, 12 years later, they did it again, winning their third IPL title in one of the most dominant finals in the history of the tournament. Restricting Sunrisers Hyderabad to just 113 runs, the Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers ran riot in Chennai before the batters easily chased down 114 within 11 overs. As the winning runs were hit, ending KKR’s 10-year wait for the IPL trophy, the knights ran onto the field to celebrate their glory, allowing their fans in Kolkata to enjoy before Cyclone Remal hit the city. A raw, emotional video shared by the KKR players is a must-watch.
While KKR lifted their IPL title in Chennai, the Men in Blue, our Indian Men’s Cricket Team were en route to New York to prepare for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Captain Rohit and Co. will be looking to put their best foot forward in New York, and if they can be half as dominant as KKR, Indian cricket fans will have a lot to rejoice in the coming months.
