Aman Sehrawat’s dominance was evident as he defeated Darian Cruz
from Puerto Rico 13-5, securing India’s 5th bronze medal from Paris. This
victory marked India’s first medal in wrestling for the 2024 campaign. At just
21 years old, the wrestler from Birohar, Haryana has etched his name among the
greats. Wrestling has always been a strong sport for India, with athletes like
Sakshi Malik and Sushil Kumar making their mark on the Olympic stage. Aman is
now joining his heroes as India’s latest champion in Paris, following Neeraj
Chopra, the Indian men’s hockey team, and the Indian shooters who bagged
the first five medals for
the country.
My Kolkata extends its heartfelt congratulations to Aman Sehrawat, who has
delivered an exemplary performance on his Olympic debut. We eagerly anticipate
his journey to the LA 2028 games, as Aman has already set his eyes on gold for the
next Olympics.
