Calcutta Heritage Collective and FunOnStreets are collaborating on two curated and enjoyable walks through the culturally-dense neighbourhoods of Kolkata.
The first a walk through Boi Para on January 21, where Navpreet Arora will take people on a culinary voyage through Kolkata’s forgotten cabin restaurants, which hosted everything from jilted romantics to inspired politicians. Starting from Sanskrit College, this walk will allow you to see College Street’s beauty through a whole new lens.
The second walk explores Kolkata’s rich love affair with theatre. This experience will showcase how theatre became the cultural cornerstone of the city, and how women in the 18th and 19th century stormed the male-dominated space to make their voices heard. The walk will commence from Latu Babu and Chatu Babu Rajbari at Beadon Street, and culminate at Jorasanko Thakur Bari on February 18.
If you love the city’s rustic architecture and are mesmerised by its limitless culture, do not miss these walks!
