If you’ve been an admirer of Naeem Mohaiemen’s work, Experimenter has a special surprise for you.
The art exhibition space is hosting the legendary author and artist for the launch of his new book, Midnight’s Third Child, at their Ballygunge Place address this Saturday from 6pm. Mohaiemen will be in conversation with singer, author and researcher Moushumi Bhowmik.
This book is Mohaiemen’s response to the title of Salman Rushdie’s 1981 novel, Midnight’s Children, and talks about what was left out of South Asian postcolonial art history. Its themes are in keeping with Mohaiemen’s drive to explore utopia-dystopia with reference to Bangladesh’s postcolonial milestones from 1947 and 1971.
Seats are limited, and guests are required to register online.
