Last week, sport brought school kids together at
the residence of the UK PM, as Akshata Murty, the wife of United Kingdom’s
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, hosted Basketball England under her ‘Lessons at 10’
initiative. Akshata welcomed players like Orlan ‘OJ’ Jackman and Shanice
Beckford-Norton, along with Basketball England CEO Stewart Kellett to play ball
and bond with their community within the hallowed walls of 10 Downing Street.
She remarked that the morning was a lot of fun, while confessing that she needed
some basketball practice.
The daughter of Infosys co-founder Narayan Murthy,
Akshata has been hosting the ‘Lessons at 10’ programme every Friday at 10
Downing Street to help school children get a peek into the building’s history
and architecture, while understanding the role it plays in the UK’s
development. We’re excited to see what she does next!
