The making of ‘Binodini’ through the eyes of Rukmini
The Tollywood actress shared a glimpse of her meticulous hard work to become Binodini Dasi on screen

Rukmini Maitra recently took to Instagram with a throwback photo from 2019, sharing her journey of preparing for the titular role in Binodini. The Tollywood actress can be seen sitting on the floor with her ghungroo still on. “An evening where I ended up ripping my churidar during my initial Kathak classes, when I first started training for #BINODIINI”, wrote Rukmini in the caption.
The actress looked happy in a yellow kurti and pink leggings, accentuating the desi girl-next-door look with a ponytail, kajal and jhumkas. “The freedom of beauty & expression that I experienced from Kathak, was like no other..” further shared Rukmini, giving a sneak peek into the toil and hard work behind slipping into the shoes of the iconic theatre legend of Bengal — Noti Binodini or Binodini Dasi.
