On the occasion of Vijaya Dashami, sitar virtuoso Rishab Rikhiram Sharma shared an intimate reel featuring his rendition of classic song, Aha Ki Ananda, from Satyajit Ray’s film, Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne. Originally sung by Anup Ghoshal, the song holds a special place in Bengali culture, symbolising joy and serenity. Sharma’s soulful performance pays tribute to the festival's spirit. Recorded live during the Sitar for Mental Health experience at G.D. Birla Sabhaghar in Kolkata, the piece radiates spiritual and uplifting energy, capturing the true meaning of Shubho Bijoya, a celebration of the triumph of good over evil.
Sharma expressed gratitude to his friend, Meghdut Roy Chowdhury, for introducing him to this beautiful composition and encouraging him to perform it for the Kolkata audience. His heartfelt performance, accompanied by musicians Debjit Patitundi and Aarchik Banerjee, aims to remind people of the power of positivity, peace, and celebration during the festive season, encouraging all to embrace the victory of light over darkness.
