Shawn Mendes has made a powerful return to the music scene, releasing two new singles on his 26th birthday, August 8. The Canadian singer-songwriter, known for his soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics, has dropped Why Why Why and Isn't That Enough, marking his first new music since his 2020 album Wonder. The single Why Why Why delves deep into the theme of lost love, with Mendes reflecting on a past relationship that has left him shaken. In a poignant verse, he sings about the emotional turmoil of nearly becoming a father, underscoring the track’s raw and vulnerable nature.
Accompanying the release of Why Why Why is an evocative music video directed by Anthony Wilson and Connor Brashier. The video features Mendes performing in various settings, including a barn, by a bonfire, on the road and in an empty concert venue — all while playing his guitar. These intimate visuals complement the song’s emotional depth, offering fans a glimpse into Mendes’ reflective state. Additionally, the Treat You Better singer has announced a self-titled album, set to drop on October 18, and revealed plans for a series of intimate concerts across the U.S. and U.K. from August 8 to October 24 to support the album’s release.
