Music composer Shantanu Moitra’s recent travel series, Songs of the River, streaming on Disney + Hotstar has a beautiful playlist, in keeping with the theme of paying tribute to his late father. Bhagirathi is one track that stands out, shot on the picturesque banks of the Ganga amidst a tranquil sunset. With lyrics penned by Swanand Kirkire, vocals by Kaushiki Chakraborty and violin by Ambi Subramaniam, the song is an ode to both Ganga and those we have lost in the pandemic, evoking a sense of introspection, while also reminding us of the fickle nature of life and how it mirrors the flowing of Ganga.
