Maharashtrian culture is
deeply rooted in the strength and grace of its women, who have long been the
pillars of Maratha society. Close to two weeks ago, Coke Studio Maharashtrian
culture is deeply rooted in the strength and grace of its women, who have long
been the pillars of Maratha society. Recently, Coke Studio Bharat released Bayo,
a traditional Marathi song performed by Cyli Khare, Srushti Tawade and
Komorebi. This powerful tune stands as a testament to resilience, mystery and
the inner strength each woman possesses.
Led by Cyli Khare and
Maharashtra's home-grown rapper Srutsti Tawde, Bayo delivers verses that
are both fierce and thought-provoking. The project also features the eclectic
Komorebi, who infuses an unconventional electronic touch into the traditional
sounds of Maharashtra, alongside fellow producer Curtain Blue.
With Bayo,
listeners get an exclusive peek behind the scenes too. In a recently uploaded
reel, Srushti Tawade speaks on how the song came together, particularly the use
of various Marathi dialects in the lyrics. She also expresses her appreciation
for the talented artistes involved. Give it a listen.
