Monsoon means…well many things. If you have a Bong connection, monsoon aka borshakaal starts with the advent of ilish maach aka hilsa. The tip tip barsa paani also means taking out, carrying and bringing back the coveted umbrella. Borshakaal means a few more cuppas of tea than usual (stop counting already). Then there are the adult life woes like drying clothes under the fan, which honestly is a hassle but monsoon is a whole other vibe. The drizzle to heavy pour reminds of good ol’ times of paper boats (and rainy days in school). And monsoon means it’s almost Durga Puja. In short, monsoon is an emotion, a concoction of hopes of some respite from the heat, of nostalgia, of great food and much more. And The Bong Sense, like ever, has summed up our thoughts with wit and creativity and we have not been able to move on from chuckling and relating with their take on borshakaal.
