“How can I be an aunty when I still can’t adult?!😭😭😭” wrote artist Stephy Ann Tomy aka @stephyanntomy on Instagram, sharing an animated video on Instagram that portrays the sad saga of every ’90s kid. If you are an adult who is still figuring out ‘adulting’ and are being referred as ‘aunty’ or ‘uncle’ by the kids of neighbours, strangers and even aliens from other verses, you will find this take absolutely relatable (and might even stifle a sob deep within).
As it is, ’90s kids are being bombarded with tax filings, crow’s feet, grey strands, back aches and a lack of zeal to party. Adding to these woes is the fast transition from didi/dada to aunty/uncle. Stephy Ann Tomy brings this out brilliantly in her post. Watch it below.
