We all know Dakota Johnson — actor, producer, future MCU star, philanthropist and keeper of the most amazing bangs. We know achieving the perfect bangs for summer is no cakewalk. Which is why we’re elated that the star’s hairstylist Mark Townsend keeps us updated on how he styles Dakota’s voluminous bangs for major-league red carpets.
At this year’s Met Gala, Dakota wore a sheer Gucci jumpsuit and sported some heavy, dramatic bottleneck bangs. And turns out, Townsend had to use some cult hair products to achieve the grungy look. The popular René Furterer texture spray was his first pick since it works like a light, invisible mist and doesn’t wear the hair down. Townsend used the sculpting mousse from the same brand since it adds a long-lasting volume to fine hair and then blow-dried with a Spornette round brush which is a cushion brush with high-quality dual-bristles that adds a lot of volume.
