Antara Nandy has been
making a splash with her USA tour, where the budding singer has been sporting a
funky hairstyle. With a full head braid and her radiant smile, Antara recently
posted her rendition of Chaleya from Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan on King Khan’s 58th
birthday on November 2. Captioned “Nayaa cover with Nayee Baal ”, the budding singer received comments like
“Very goddessy this look. ” and “Chul ta darun lagche” from the netizens
on the acoustic version of the viral song. Strumming on ukulele and wearing a
yellow outfit, Antara kept her makeup dewy and peachy. The pearl teardrops on
her ears and pink ukulele painted a pretty picture.
Antara dropped the first
glimpse of her new hair on October 29 on Instagram from Atlanta, singing her
festive collaboration with Monami Ghosh — Ailo Uma.
If you are looking for a
fashion input to add spunk to your look, this is a recommendation to save.
Antara’s shiny and sleek mane’s binuni makeover is great for a boho
look. You can add dainty hair accessories to zhuzh up the hair a bit more if
you fancy, or spray some sparkle if there’s a party happening.
Speaking about her new
hairstyle and the song, Antara told My Kolkata, “Since the day I have
been posting pictures about this hairstyle I have been getting love and hate in
equal amounts. When I released the Chalye video on YouTube, people spoke about
the hair first and then the song. Like, ‘Why did you have to change your hair
like this?’ At first, I was agitated because of the backlash but then my mother
has been counselling me and explaining to me that people need time to get used
to the hair and it’s not a common look in India. But on Times Square, someone
stopped me and said, ‘Hey Beyonce!’ I know it will take people time to accept
this which I am okay with since I am enjoying myself. Better an ‘oops’ than a
‘what if’.
Being a Shah Rukh Khan
fan and also to celebrate my new look, I shot the Chaleya video in
Atlanta. Chaleya is a song I have been completely obsessed with. So,
there was no better way of celebrating the new me with the person I love the
most. I have been getting a lot of love about the cover too.
I have seen a lot of
people doing this look and of course, my idol of all time is Beyonce.”
By the way, can we vote
for a full version of this reel, please?
