Inspired by the adventurous spirit of Bharat
Joyent, better known as India Jones, and his love for travel and fine cuisine,
India Jones restaurant at Trident, Nariman Point, Mumbai, offers authentic
dishes from Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia and Japan.
Bringing this culinary adventure to Kolkata, chef Stefan Chin will host an
exclusive modern Asian cuisine pop-up at The Oberoi Grand’s Baan Thai
restaurant.
Chef Chin is a senior sous chef, who plays around
with flavours of Asian cuisines, recreating and reimagining delectable recipes.
Chef Chin’s inspiration is driven by his family heritage — a mixture of
pan-Asian chefs of Indian-Chinese origin in Kolkata. The three-day pop-up menu will
include dishes like sesame poached scallops and glass noodles, Osaka-style lamb
chops with pepper glaze, Malay coconut prawns with mango relish, spinach and
jade soup and more. Speaking about the India Jones pop-up kitchen at Baan Thai,
chef Stefan Chin said, “The creation of modern Asian cuisines with a tapestry
of ingredients and textures has become an integral part of my signature. I look
forward to bringing a taste of India Jones, Mumbai, back to the kitchens of
Baan Thai at The Oberoi Grand, Kolkata, for an even more innovative dining
experience.”
