After three days of niramish food through Puja, what better way to celebrate Navami than with the most Bangali-style manghsor jhol-bhaat? Nil says “I do eat non-veg right through Puja, but Kochi Pathar Patla Jhol hits differently for Navami lunch.”
Specifying a bit further about the jhol, Nil said, “You do have a lot of rich food throughout Puja, so the typical lazy Sunday Mangshor Jhol is the best thing you can have.” If you are on the move, then head over to the closest Bengali restaurant to get your fill of Mangshor Jhol or if you want to try your hand at cooking, check out this recipe from Tanhir Paakshala, where she takes you step-by-step through the ingredients, marinating and cooking process. Let us know in the comments what your typical Navami lunch looks like.
