The culinary culture of Bengal is divided into two primary
cuisines. One that belongs to epar Bangla (West Bengal in India) and the
other to opar Bangla (Bangladesh).
While the former fights for their prawn cuisines and a touch of sweetness in
the food, the latter boasts of its Hilsas and spice tolerance. However, as
Bengalis we take pride in both! Celebrating this tradition, JW Marriott is
hosting the Epar Opar Food Festival featuring a variety of dishes from both
regions. Experience an array of bhortas and machch bhajas at the
live counters. The main course will include an array of vegetarian dishes such
as Kochu Bata, Kochur Saag, Aloo Jhinge Posto, Aloo\Fulkopi Rezala, and more.
Non-vegetarian options will feature delicacies like Shorshe Ilish, Chingri
Malai Curry, Kochupata Bhapa Maach, Goalondo Steamer Chicken etc. Also enjoy
staples like Panta Bhat, Morog Polao, Khud er Bhat, Sada Polao, and Muri
Ghonto. There will be some lip-smacking desserts too!
