Racing against the clock on a busy Monday? Need a
quick fix for lunch — something like a dal-chawal? But the dal takes
time to cook, right? Chef Neha Deepak Shah has a quick hack. You will just need
15 minutes for this! All you have to do is put the rice in the cooker and
prepare to make your instant dal. Chop onions, chillies, coriander and
tomatoes. Keep some grated ginger and garlic handy. The next step isn’t washing
the dal, because this recipe doesn’t need any dal. It requires a
basic ingredient that is definitely in your kitchen staring at you from the
shelf, in a jar. What is it? Hint: Something that makes all your fritters.
