Choddo Shaak is an integral part of Bhoot
Chaturdashi rituals in many Bengali households. Do you know the 14 greens
that make Choddo Shaak? Some of them are Helenchey Shaak, Laal Shaak,
Palang Shaak, Mulo Shaak, Kulekhara Shaak, Methi Shaak, to name a few. Chef
Shivaji Majumder of ITC Royal Bengal, Kolkata’s informative video gives a
glimpse to how Choddo Shaak and Kali Puja are synonymous. In the reel,
the good chef is seen taking a stroll of a market in the city selecting the
leafy greens. He narrates the history of Bhoot Chaturdashi. Don’t miss
watching it.
