Actress Bhumi Pednekar surprised her fans on Instagram by
sharing a candid reel of her first attempt at making Ukadiche Modak — a
traditional Maharashtrian sweet associated with Ganesh Chaturthi. Admitting
that she’s not much of a cook, Bhumi revealed her past kitchen ventures had
been disastrous. However, this time, she embraced the challenge, making the
delicacies from scratch and offering them to Lord Ganesha before indulging
herself. “I can eat Modak for breakfast, lunch, and dinner,” she wrote, capturing
the love and effort she poured into the process. Her video showcased the mix of
hard work, joy, and the sweet reward of tasting her creation, complete with the
hashtag #IAmNotACook.
Bhumi also shared her recipe for Ukadiche Modak, guiding her
followers step-by-step. From preparing a soft rice flour dough simmered in milk
and water to making a filling of grated coconut, jaggery, and cardamom, she
provided all the tips for creating this beloved dish. After shaping and
steaming the modaks, Bhumi added a drizzle of ghee, enjoying them piping hot.
Fans responded enthusiastically, praising her effort and relating to her
kitchen struggles. “Batao, is it giving a vibe?” she playfully asked her
followers, as her reel captured her culinary skills.
